F4K McMaster Altitude Climbing Day

"The best view comes after the hardest climb." ~ Vanessa Gendoma

Today was probably one of the most incredible days I’ve had with Friends 4 Kindness! We were invited to Altitude Climbing Tower at MacMaster University!

When I first spoke to Wayne Terryberry (the Director at the Tower) I was going to pass as I said I needed activities that were accessible to all our friends- and climbing a tower would not be accessible for our friends with wheelchairs.

He informed me that they have a special lift- and that ALL our friends could use the tower and the swing!!!!

How inspiring, fun, amazing- but most of all empowering for individuals who would never have thought they would be able to climb a 50 foot rope tower!!

Oooh- and I went all the way to the top with the swing- I don’t have a video of it yet but once I get it later today I’ll post!!!! I feel I earned bragging rights!!! I couldn’t climb the tower to the top because of my stupid knee injury- but I made sure to at least go to the first platform to have a look!

Thank you Wayne and your incredible (sooo incredible) staff for making today the most fun I’ve had in a long time!!

And Don Terryberry for donating pizza for all of us for lunch!!! Yummmmy!!!

And thank you to Crafty in the Hammer for donating with their vendor event for this activity

I’ll post my swing (maybe) once I get someone to send me a video of it hahaha
